Aaron Ngow: A Fantastical World of Colours

ADAM Arts Creation, the social enterprise of Arts with the Disabled Association Hong
Kong, is pleased to present A Fantastical World of Colour, the debut solo exhibition by
artist, Aaron Ngow. The exhibition features a collection of paintings centred on forests,
trees, skies, and natural landscapes. In his series ‘Landscape • Trees • Forest,’ the artist
uses vibrant colours as a medium for perceiving nature, reconstructing an imagined
connection between the earth, trees, and forests.

Greeted by a lovely forest of colours, within which the interplay of light and shadow
across the landscapes creates a scenery that blurs the line between reality and
imagination. The collection not only features bold and striking colours but also reveals
delicate transitions between light and darkness, inviting the audiences into a world filled
with emotion, wonder, and imagination.

The inspiration for this series is partly drawn from the imagery of ‘Jewelled Trees’
described in the Infinite Life Sutra. The scriptural depictions of radiant trees bearing
multihued leaves, flowers, and fruits has inspired the artist to translate this magnificent
spiritual imagery into natural landscapes. These vibrant and life-filled forests on canvas
allow his work to hover between fantasy and reality, presenting a visual experience that
is consistently tranquil, immersive, and full of vitality.

At the heart of this collection is the artist’s belief that every colour holds equal value in
existence, without hierarchy or judgement of beauty. He asserts that through coexistence,
collision, and harmony among colours, and his work serves as a visual metaphor for
diversity, inclusivity, and coexistence, forming the spiritual essence of the exhibition.
